Master of Ceremonies
Joy D'Souza
What really makes a great Master of Ceremonies? It’s not just about holding a mic or announcing names - it’s about connecting with people, keeping the energy alive, and turning every moment into something special.
My own journey as an MC started quite unexpectedly. It was my cousin’s wedding, and the appointed MC didn’t show up. At the last minute, my cousin handed me the microphone and said, “You can do it!” I looked out at a crowd of more than 500 guests waiting expectantly. To my surprise, I wasn’t nervous at all. In fact, I felt completely at ease, as if I belonged there. The laughter, applause, and kind words that followed that night gave me a feeling I’ll never forget.
The band playing that evening was The Wild Rangers, led by the talented Augustine Mendes. He noticed how naturally I handled the crowd and later told me how much he enjoyed watching me in action. From that day on, Augustine became one of my biggest supporters and a close friend, constantly encouraging me and recommending me to others.
And that’s how it all began. From one wedding to another, from small family gatherings to grand international celebrations, my journey as an MC took off. Over time, I’ve had the privilege of hosting more than 2,600 events - weddings, communions, birthdays, christenings, corporate parties, talent shows, and so much more. Each one has been a new story, full of surprises, challenges, and smiles.
My love for the stage runs deep, perhaps because I grew up watching my father, Shri J. B. Kulshekar, a gifted Konkani playwright, songwriter, and dramatist. His passion for entertaining people inspired me long before I ever realized it.
Today, the stage still feels like home - a place where joy, laughter, and connection come together. Every event reminds me why I started… and why I never want to stop.

All the best and pray that Mr. Joy D'Souza keep continue with the same spirit.
