(My Maternal Uncle)

11th June 2010 early morning we received shocking news that Mama was no more. He was electrocuted by a live overhead wire that snapped and fell on him while he was out on the lawns of his house. Hearing the screams of my Aunt (My Mausi - Mom's youngest sister) who saw him fall down, my Maami ran to pick him up and she too came in contact with the live wire. By providence she survived with severe burns on both her hands. She is in the hospital. Their son Nischal has flown from abroad for the fumeral today. I am still too shocked for words to see my Mama die this way. I could not say anything when I contacted his daughter Trupthi on phone. Mama was a great devotee of St. Anthony and he never failed to celebrate the feast of this great saint which fell on 13th June every year. This year he will be celebrating the feast with the great saint in Heaven and that itself is the most comforting thought during these bereaved moments.
